Chinese Philosopher Confucious once said: "If you think in terms of a year, plant a
seed; if in terms of ten years, plant trees; if in terms of 100 years, teach the
people". Only education can bring about long-lasting changes to the society.
Mahatma
Gandhi also once said: "Literacy in itself is no education. Literacy is not the end
of education or even the beginning. By education I mean an all -round drawing out of
the best in the child and man-body, mind and spirit". The Spirit of true education
is obvious in these words. The lasting treasure is to achieve true wisdom.
Education is the process of bringing out the latent abilities and hence to form the young minds into integrated human beings who can shoulder the responsibility to lead the world, the role of the educators assumes a new dimension today. The new generation is bombarded with fast changing trends, media explosion and technological advancement. The young minds are in the midst of constant threat of being diluted in values and carried away by trends.
The Holy Bible says: "Do not be conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that you may prove what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect" (Roman 12:2)
Under the effective leadership of Rev. Fr Ansil Peter, manager and Sr. Mary Larina, principal, St. Peter's ICSE School, Nileshwar will , I am sure, impart an education of this sort to the new generation. I sincerely congratulate both of them, the staff, students and the PTA on their good efforts and wish them lots of success and fulfillment.
Yours sincerely,
